Seriously?!? 03/03/21

Markham County Park, Sunrise, Florida

Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, “Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old?  Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?”  And Abraham said to God, “If only Ishmael might live under your blessing!”  Romans Chapter 4 tells us that it wasn’t through obedience of God’s Law that Abraham became the father of nations, but rather through righteousness that comes through faith.  It is by God’s grace that God’s promises are kept.  Paul also points out the fact that God is able to give life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.  “Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead – since he was about a hundred years old – and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.  Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God.”  (vs 19-20)  I take this to indicate that Abraham wasn’t doubting God, just finding it hysterically funny.  I’m pretty sure I would too!

Today ended up being a day of rest for us.  (Doesn’t everyone need a rest after vacation?  😊)

Blaine went riding around the Park and found this incredible sign.

I had to look kinda close to that picture of the python eating the deer.
Can you believe it can physically do that?!?!
I was also shocked to learn they can eat 5′ alligators! That’s just 2″ under my height!
The quiet of the Park

I have no idea what I did all day long, other than to uncover some surprising information about stink bugs.

The brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys) is native to Asia. It has been an agricultural pest in China, Japan and Korea.  Most of us probably believe this horrible creatures have been around forever, but the truth is, it didn’t make its way to the United States until 1998, when it was collected in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  Can you believe that?  That means, most of us in the USA remember a time when there were no stink bugs! Since 1998, it’s exploded and is now found in many parts of the country from Maine to Mississippi and from Oregon to Florida.  After about 30 minutes of research, I found nothing good about them.  But I did find ‘Terro Stink Bug Killer’!  We put a can in our Amazon cart and will have it shipped to Blaine’s sister, Sandy and Eric’s.  We could have the solution within about a week!  Terro is the brand of ant killer we use, and those of you following the blog know how well that worked.  Hopefully, this will produce the same results!

If I don’t make notes, and there are no pictures, it never happened.  Today is one of those ‘lost’ days.

Wait!  I DO remember one thing!  We had to dig back out much of the stuff we took on vacation, because we’re taking off on another adventure trip in the morning. . .
