As soon as Joseph saw his brothers, he recognized them, but he pretended to be a stranger and spoke harshly to them.  “Where do you come from?”… “From the land of Canaan…to buy food.”  Although Joseph recognized his brothers, they did not recognize him.  Then he remembered his dreams about them and said… “You are spies!  You have come to see where our land is unprotected.” ~ Genesis 42:7-9      Isn’t it funny that Joseph recognized his brothers immediately, but they didn’t recognize him?  I imagine they hadn’t changed much in the past 20 years, since they were already grown men when they sold their brother.  But now, Joseph has not only become a man, but he’s dressed like the vizier of Egypt – completely shaven, wearing regal clothes, attendants all around.  They would never even begin to consider that this was what happened to the brother they sold into slavery.  They probably expected him to be dead by now.  Not to mention that they’re probably not really looking at him, but have their eyes downcast as would’ve been proper.  How often have you run into someone somewhere ‘out of context’, and don’t recognize them until they make themselves known?  I know I’ve done it – several times!  I wonder if Joseph’s anger at what they did to him all those years ago surfaced before he could stop it?  I wish the Word gave us insight into what he was thinking.

Miketz 2015: Hishtadlus (Effort) vs. Faith – The Oisvorfer Ruv

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-K – lahoma where the wind comes sweeping down the plain!

Along with the dust and the leaves and . . . .

Tornados!

Our first night here, and I’m lying in bed late at night wondering where I’d hide if a tornado crossed our path.  You tend to do that when a piercing alarm at 11:20pm comes across your phone and says things like, “SEEK SHELTER NOW!!!”  I decided I’d crawl under my bed.  That’s pretty much your only choice when you live in a metal can.  There’s certainly no hotels to hunker down in around here.

Fortunately, we’re still around to tell you about it.  Guess the Father isn’t quite ready for us to make a personal appearance at His Throne yet.

I had heard hail earlier when I first went to bed, and of course the blustery winds slamming rain into our side (we pulled the slide in early last night), and barreling through the trees surrounding us in every direction.  Saw the lightening.  Heard some thunder.  I even put on my glasses and tried to look outside, but the wind was fast-balling the rain so hard at us, I couldn’t see through the window, despite the fact that the neighbors had their outdoor lights on.

I slept in today, too, which eventually made Blaine so nervous, he came to check on me – at 7:30am!  And I was still so sound asleep he startled me.

Good morning, Norman!

The Jeep and coach are now covered with red dirt spots, and I mean co-vered!  So’s our outdoor carpet, although it looks more like a red river ran over it. What a mess!

We actually took this picture tomorrow. : )

I just had to share one of our devotionals from today. Enjoy! 😊

And that’s it for today.  We stayed inside the entire cool and windy day.
