Oh The Tension!     04/28/22

Tom Sawyers RV Park, Memphis, Tennessee

As morning dawned, the men were sent on their way with their donkeys.  They had not gone far from the city when Joseph said to his steward, “Go after those men at once, and when you catch up with them, say to them, ‘Why have you repaid good with evil?  Isn’t this the cup my master drinks from and also uses for divination?  This is a wicked thing you have done.’” ~ Genesis 44:3-5     What was your first thought upon reading this?  Mine was, ‘What’s the divination about?  Joseph belongs to God!’  Then, I realized that it was most likely just a ruse.  His brothers would expect pagan activity from a ruler of Egypt.  Several commentators share thoughts that Joseph has been leading the brothers toward repentance of their treatment of him, and also testing them to see if they care for Benjamin in a way that they didn’t Joseph.  He’s testing their hearts.  I believe God sometimes does the same to us; allowing chastisement and stress to test us in order to show us where we stand with Him.  How firm is your footing?  Our actions speak to the condition of our hearts.  Is your heart in good condition?  Are your motives and actions pure?  For me, I’m still growing (albeit slowly), but praise God, I’m growing!

I learned today that tension also irritates my head muscles.

Moving day was very intense this time, for most of the 4 ½ hours and 239 miles.  I stopped counting close calls after six.  At one point, around the Nashville area (I think), it was so bad, it brought tears to my eyes.  These things were all traffic related!  In addition to that, there were horrible highways and roads that beat us up almost constantly and one very deep hole at the fuel station where we had to stop for fuel.  We were running near empty (gulped down 84 gallons today!), so it was an extremely costly stop, as you can imagine at $5/gallon!

Are we saying goodbye to these gorgeous fields of yellow?
Crossing back into Tennessee.
We discovered that you can take tours of the St Jude Hospital,
but we just didn’t have enough time to fit it in.
Next time!
My pictures won’t show as bad as it was,
but that’s because I was too preoccupied to take pictures when it was!
This was a pretty nice stretch.
Whew! We can breathe for a bit!
The bugs were so bad, I couldn’t clean up the pictures. : (
We’re almost there!

Seven Points Campground, Nashville, Tennessee

We made it!
And see! Doesn’t it look like the entrance to Graceland? : )

We were so very pleased to see our site!  It’s beautiful, with no obstructions out the front window, and our particular site is huge.  We spent a few moments just decompressing (especially Blaine!) before we set up.  I think we’ll enjoy our stop here as we draw ever closer to home.

By the way, I looked ahead in our pictures and found nothing showing how wonderful our site is here!  Unbelievable that neither of us ever took one!  We have unobstructed views of the lake and can watch the birds and lake traffic in a beautiful woodsy setting!
