During the coming days we’ll cover the final recorded words of Jacob, as he speaks first with Joseph and Joseph’s sons, and then to his other eleven sons.

Jacob said to Joseph, “God Almighty appeared to me at Luz (Bethel) in the land of Canaan, and there He blessed me and said to me, ‘I am going to make you fruitful and will increases your numbers.  I will make you a community of peoples, and I will give this land as an everlasting possession to your descendants after you.’ ~ Genesis 48:3-4      ‘God Almighty’ means all sufficient provider.  You may also know the name as El Shaddai.  It’s the number one name for God in the book of Genesis.  Bethel is the place we read about in Chapter 28, where Jacob had his ‘stairway or ladder’ dream and God extended His Covenant Promise to Abraham to now go through Jacob.  He also extended the Promise that everyone would be blessed through Jacob.  That’s what’s called a Messianic Prophecy.  From Abraham, to Isaac, to Jacob, to Judah and so on, until we reach Joseph and Mary, and Jesus, the Messiah is born to save the world.

The move today took us across the Chesapeake Bay – 20 miles of bridges and tunnels.  It took us about 2 hours plus a fuel stop on our 81-mile journey.  There was a lot of construction, as you’ll see, but there weren’t any problems today.  We did smile a couple of times as we passed the Rip Rap Road and Robin Hood Road exits.  😊

Look how close that truck is to the ceiling!
We’re just about the same! Yikes!
Between those two brown bunker-looking buildings is another tunnel. : )

We’re here!

This is our vacation week.  A week of slower pace in body and mind.  A week of no plans and no museums.  But I’m certain God has something in store for us.  He always does.  😊
