Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come.” While he was saying this to me, I bowed with my face toward the ground and was speechless. ~ Daniel 10:12-15 This verse tells us that Daniel set about asking for an explanation of the vision he was given in back in Chapter 9 immediately. And even though his prayer was heard, there was some spiritual warfare going on – for three weeks! – that prevented Gabriel (the man in linen) from bringing God’s answer to him. So much so, he had to enlist additional help. By the way, Michael is identified in Daniel 12:1 as, “the great prince who protects your people”. Are you as surprised as I was to learn these things go on ‘behind the scenes’? How often are the answers to our prayers detained by spiritual warfare? We’d do well to keep this in mind when we get impatient.
172 miles in three hours. That was our day today. Once we got inside the Park, there was a fork in the road – straight up, or straight down! Fortunately, we had to go up. We noticed several roads with signs that said “No vehicle over 35’ allowed”. We’ll have to check those out in the Jeep!
It was rainy much of the way today, but the traffic was easy. But there’s that hill factor that kinda stresses Blaine out. And somehow we drove from West Virginia, to Virginia, to Tennessee, and back to Virginia.
We were thankful that the rain had stopped by the time we were ready to set up on our new and wonderful site.
