Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’” Then the devil left Him and angels came and attended Him. ~ Matthew 4:10-11 I may be wrong, but I feel like it was decided that Jesus had passed the ‘temptation test’ and was ready to begin His public ministry. He had endured all manner of earthly temptations, not just these three (in my humble opinion), and had not given in because His strength to resist came from knowing the Word of God and using it accurately as a weapon. This is why the apostle Paul tells us to put on the full armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-18. Without it, we are defenseless against the evil one and his minions. And because of the authority of Jesus, when He finally said ‘Go!’ Satan had no choice but to leave. But he didn’t give up. All throughout Jesus’ remaining days, Satan continued his attempts to thwart His mission to save mankind, but as we know, he never succeeded. Of course!
All we did today (at least as far as I can remember), was walk and bike around the Park. There were a few perils along the way as we dodged water and mud, but overall, it was just a good day in the out-of-doors. Enjoy the few pictures I took!
Tomorrow, we’ll be taking a day trip and I’ll try not to write a novel about it!
