Indian Mountain State Park, Jellico, Tennessee
The air is heavy with potential rain this morning. A perfect morning for a walk just to take in the Father’s joys! Blaine joined me for a nice stroll over to the boat house. Birds were singing their praises, but otherwise, all was quiet and peaceful. As we approached the area, we encountered three families of Canada Geese. Mamas and Daddies taking the little ones for a progressive breakfast.
Blaine left me sitting on the sidewalk, reveling in their presence and taking pictures and videos as he announced he had work to do. He’s going to wax as much of the coach as possible before the rain hit in a few hours.
The rain didn’t hit until dinnertime. Blaine waxed the entire coach. Took him six hours! I know that sounds like a lot, but the first time we put wax on, it took 20! Eight of which, I helped, in the driveway of our sticks and bricks home, shortly after we’d purchased it. For some reason I don’t comprehend, it’s easier after the first coat. ????
The other option to waxing ourselves, was to purchase a professional waxing for a mere $2,500 from the dealer – that’s only guaranteed for two years (if I remember correctly). So for just under $25 in wax and rags, with a little elbow grease, we can spend two days a year (every 6 months), doing a great job ourselves. (I especially like the savings when I don’t have to help. 😊)
Early this evening, we were treated to another trumpet solo. Tonight though, he stood stoically out in the rain playing all the military hymns, wiping the rain off his trumpet and brow following each one. And then came taps. Followed by a salute. How moving! How blessed we were!
