Camping Rimouski & Motel of Anse, Quebec, Canada
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. ~ Proverbs 9:10
I just realized I forgot to tell you about our neighbor. The one who said she wanted to talk to us? We caught up with each other yesterday afternoon. She wanted to give us tips of places as we go around the horn here in Quebec. 😊 She’s originally from Germany, learned English there, and learned French here. That means she speaks 3 languages fluently! I can barely manage one. Her husband and sister-in-law don’t really speak anything other than French, so we didn’t talk to them other than to smile and say ‘hello’. Very nice lady!
I also came up with another thing about Quebec that’s different from what we’re used to – – they use commas instead of decimal points when listing mileage. For example: The trailhead says ‘5,5 km’. That one’s easy to figure out. 😊
As we were leaving the campground today, we came upon someone celebrating Christmas in July!
That was the last smile we had before we left here, because as we went over the speed bumps they’ve installed, everything shook around like we were experiencing an 8.0 earthquake! Fortunately, nothing actually fell out onto the floor, but I had to re-secure a few things. Whew! And that’s with Blaine going slow!
It was yet another beautiful 3-hour (including a lunch/fuel stop), 113-mile drive as we continued up the coast along the St. Lawrence River.
Camping au Bond de la Mer, Cap Chat, Canada
“Camping at the edge of the sea”. That’s the name of this new place we’re enjoying. We think they consider it the sea because it’s the St. Lawrence Seaway now. Not sure I’d consider it a “sea”, but it sure looks and feels like it! What a beautiful place Blaine found us – – again!
A couple of unusual things here – – they told us when we checked in to let our gray water drain out of the motorhome, which is unheard of, but much easier on us because that means we don’t have to mind our water consumption during our 5-night stay.
Also, they serve lobster here – – every single night. 1 ¾# along with seasoned rice and garlic or lemon butter and all the plates, tools, etc. Sounded great! Until she told us it’s $35/person. . . .
We’re certain to enjoy our stay here alongside the water, and near another wonderful National Park!
Oh. And the ‘t’ in Cap Chat is silent. Pronounced like something stuck in your craw – Cap Cha, and you have to say it very fast. 😊
