Punderson State Park

We’re so blessed to have so many beautiful State Parks in Ohio!  Punderson is only an hour from our house.  The weather was perfect all weekend.  The park is quiet and our site had a view (thru the trees) of the lake.  Lesson for this trip – – don’t try to make box brownies without eggs!  Of course, you wouldn’t have to remember that if you actually remembered to TAKE the eggs!  The camp store was out and Blaine actually considered a 5-mile bike trip into town because he REALLY wanted those brownies.  He thought better of it, though since the trip would have taken him on a really busy road.  We tried making the brownies anyway.  DON’T try this at home . . . . or anywhere else.

The full hook-up site was beautiful!

View of the lake from our site

First thing Saturday morning, we blew up our kayak and headed out onto the mirrored lake.  We saw some blue herons, turtles and flowers, plus a good view of the manor house that’s part of the park.

A rose by any other name – – especially for the bees!

After lunch, we decided to take the bikes on an adventure around the park.  Up and down and all around, with a final destination of the manor house.  Blaine had the idea to turn the air on in the coach so it would be cool when we returned.  Great idea!
