Thanksgiving!     11/23/17

My goodness!  We have sooooooo much to be thankful for!  First and foremost is always Jesus Christ and His saving grace!  Where would we be without Him and the gift of the Holy Spirit?  God is so good!  He’s our everything – even the very breath that we breathe!

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. ~ Ephesians 1:3

And we are grateful for the many, many ways He constantly blesses and preserves us.  He gives us a peace that passes understanding – even in rough times.  We can’t possibly imagine life without Him in it!

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.  Let the redeemed of the Lord say so! ~ Psalm 107:102a

We are blessed to be a part of wonderful Christian families as well!  And we are grateful for each and every one of them!

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. ~ I Thessalonians 5:16-18

We are blessed to be able to live our dream!  Our new life is everything we anticipated!  The only negative is being away from our family.  Especially at this time of year when we were so used to hosting everyone in our home.

Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God failing to observe His commands, His laws and His decrees … Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied, then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God…You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.”  But remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth…  ~ Deuteronomy 8:11-14a

We are blessed to live in a country that gives us the freedom to be able to realize and live this dream.

I will extol the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.  My soul will boast in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.  Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt His name together. ~ Psalm 34:1-3

And my personal favorite hymn:

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of Creation!

O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy health and salvation!

All ye who hear, now to His temple draw near

Sing now in glad adoration!

Praise to the Lord, Who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth!

Shelters thee under His wings, yea so gently sustaineth!

Hast thou not seen, how all thy desires e’re have been,

Granted in what He ordaineth?

Praise to the Lord, Who doth prosper thy work and defend thee!

Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee.

Ponder anew, what the Almighty can do,

If with His love He befriend thee.

Praise to the Lord, oh, let all that is in me adore Him!

All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before Him!

Let the Amen, sound from His people again!

Gladly for aye we adore Him!

I could go on and on . . .

We were able to be with some of our family today, as months ago, we invited ourselves to Bruce and Donna’s for the day.  😊

There were 8 of us – Bruce (Blaine’s younger and taller brother), Donna, her parents, Gage and a friend of his, and us.  It was a nice group, but sooo much food for eight people!  We had turkey, smashed potatoes/gravy, sausage stuffing, green bean casserole (with fresh green beans), buttercup squash, roasted broccoli, homemade cranberry sauce, 7-layer salad . . . I think that’s everything . . . and for dessert, pineapple pie and death by chocolate.

Once again we waddled home!  Ugh!!

Here’s a family picture.  I don’t know why we didn’t try to take everyone.  We posed before Donna’s parents came over.

And a Great, BIG THANK YOU to Bruce and Donna for being such wonderful, gracious, belly-stuffing hosts!
