Single White Billboard     4/23/18

Cumberland Mountain State Park, Crossville, Tennessee

Indulging in a buffet two days in a row was a bad idea.  It not only raises dietary issues like gluttony, it’s stretched my stomach so that now I’m hungry all the time.  It also increased my desire for the taste of food, so now everything sounds good.  I’m not only stomach hungry, I’m also mouth hungry . . . .

Today was moving day – in the rain.

As we got underway, Blaine complained of water dripping on him.  I searched for the source, but it wasn’t coming from the usual suspects.  Moments later, I discovered the culprit – it was dripping from the light in the ceiling above his head!  He had to pull over to check it out.  Once he removed the light cover, the dripping stopped.  After we got settled in our new location, he went to the roof to see if everything was alright.  It seems to be.  We’ll have to keep an eye on it.  Weird. . .

We passed a billboard today that caught my attention.  It was all white with black lettering:  Single, white billboard seeks advertiser for long term relationship.  (and then a phone number)  Creative!  I love creative, clever people.  It reminded me of an independent insurance agent in my hometown of Uniontown, Ohio who once put the shell of a real car through a billboard advertising his services.  It was the talk of the town – and beyond!  I don’t know if it increased his business, but certainly everyone one knew who he was and what he did.  😊

There’s the Smokey Mountains!

River Plantation RV Resort, Sevierville, Tennessee

The first thing you need to know about this place is how to pronounce it.  It’s not SEE-ver-vil, it’s Sa-VEER-ville (like a severe storm, or sunburn, or warning . . .)  If you’re a native, it’s Sa-VEER-vul.

The second thing you need to know about this place is that it’s where Dolly Parton grew up.  We’re close to Pigeon Forge and her name’s on everything.  We’re also close to Gatlinburg.

The weatherman has promised four days of rain . . . .

Bummer!
