The One And Only 04/27/19

Byrd’s Branch Campground, Elkin, North Carolina

Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever!  ~ Deuteronomy 5:29

They say confession is good for the soul, so here goes. . . .

I needed a day off today to wallow alone in self-pity.  Pity parties are never fun, especially if Satan has invited himself over.  I allowed him to whisper in my ear for a bit before finally booting him out, and once I did, I felt much better!

I worked on the blog a tiny bit, took a nap and watched about half of one of the Pirate movies (before Blaine returned) in between my wallowing and crying out to God.  At least there was no need for tears this time, just a whiny, poor me attitude.

I sent Blaine off on a hike for a few hours and he came back with a few pictures!

That field reminds us of the canola fields we saw in Canada two years ago.
Don’t know what it is, but it’s not canola.
He came across this great old barn!
Getting ready to hike Wells Knob, a 1 1/2 mile hike up to the top of a mountain.
What’s that??
This is the top. Not much of a reward.
The view from the top. : (
Better lighting this time. : )
This is Carter Falls again. He wanted to give me some extra time. So sweet! : )
There’s a little more water since the rain storm.

Good thing, or I’d have to insert one of Captain Jack! (Just what is it about that character anyway?)

Oh, what the heck. Here ya go. Enjoy!
