A Fond Farewell 10/28/19

All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.  ~ Proverbs 14:23

FYI – if you’re interested in checking out what we did the past month, scroll down to my previous post. If not, you can just pick us up here. : )

Wow!! Look at the going-away gift the Lord gave to us!!

It was with mixed emotions that we revved up the coach’s engine after a month’s rest and took off on our 317-mile, 5 ½ -hour drive Southwest.  Part of the reason for the length of time was a 25-minute wait to get fuel.  A guy with a pick-up hauling a trailer with a little backhoe beat us to the pump and he took his time re-fueling that thing.  It’s hard to imagine that it could hold much fuel because of its size, but it sure took a while – longer than it takes Blaine to fill up our 100-gallon coach.  By the way, for those of you who may be interested (and because people have asked multiple times), at the time we filled up, our coach had 20,595 miles on it after 3 ½ years of ownership (400-500 of those miles were already on it when we drove it out of the lot).  Also, while we were home the past month?  We put 1,500 miles on our Jeep!

We’re a bit melancholy to leave behind family and friends, but excited to discover what adventures God has in store for us!  Vacation’s over, and it’s time for me to get back to my full-time job – keeping up with the blog.  😊

It was a foggy drive for a good little while today.
Clear skies and beautiful scenery!
Heading into some lingering fog.
Cincinati
Driving through town
Through a tunnel
And on towards our final destination
Sometimes I like to throw in a reminder of the traffic Blaine has to navigate.
We’ve left the expressway and entered into rolling horse farms.

Kentucky Horse Park Campground, Lexington, Kentucky

We were greeted with Star Wars Christmas lights when we entered our Park!

And all we did the rest of the day was set up and relax.  Blaine did smashingly well with his long drive today, especially since he’s developed a cold.  A cold he claims he got from our granddaughter, Harper.  I’m not so sure that’s where it came from, but we won’t argue with him.  😊

Our home required more attention to cleaning than usual because I’ve not touched the place in a month of Sundays, but once that was done, we really didn’t do anything much.  It was kinda weird to sit around in here all evening, since we’ve pretty much been absent except to sleep for the past four weeks.  😊

A little humor to end the day that came in the form of a text from our son, Chris.

Hahahaha!!!!
