You are to bring into the ark two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive.  ~ Genesis 6:20

Did you notice that Noah didn’t go out and collect the animals?  God brought them to him!  It was many years before I realized that.  😊

It rained again, all day . . .

But we managed to keep ourselves quite busy.  A 20-minute drive to the laundromat, grocery shopping (surely we won’t have to go for at least 2 weeks!  Our refrigerator is packed full!), lunch at a favorite place we discovered two years ago, having a new battery installed on my phone, baking cookies, cleaning up, coloring my hair, showers, and football!  Whew!  I get tired just making the list!

None of that seems very noteworthy, but here’s a few additional details anyway.

Let’s talk laundry first.  One of the things I noticed when I pulled the sheets out of the dryer, was the smell.  A sort of overwhelming ‘fresh scent’ smell.  And I’d forgotten to put a dryer sheet in.  But I was in a hurry and didn’t think any more about it until we got home and went to make the bed.  Same strong smell.  I was befuddled.  And then, the next day, I saw a glimpse of a commercial where they were hocking a new Downey product.  Some kind of beads that you put in your wash to keep things smelling fresh for weeks.  I’m thinking someone before me, put that in the washer I had my sheets in.  It’s the only plausible explanation.  And by the way, neither of us care much for it.

Lunch was at Chanticleer Eatery.  You may remember that two years ago, I talked about the roosters decorating the place and researching what ‘chanticleer’ was?  Probably not.  Anyway, they serve up amazing food!  We were planning on riding our bikes there, but . . . rain . . . remember?  Lots of rain.  Sigh . . .  Once again, the food was incredible!  So good, that we splurged and brought home an order of their jambalaya to share for dinner.  Only we were still too full by the time dinner came around.  That’s okay.  We’ll enjoy it tomorrow after moving day. Oh. And my tea was free! Oversight, or normal? I don’t know.

The only comment I’ll make about my phone is that it works great now!  I no longer have to keep it plugged in all the time!  And the name of the place is CPR (Cell Phone Repair).  Clever, huh?  😊

My baking today didn’t go particularly smoothly, so Blaine began researching a new toaster oven.  This one’s probably about 10 years old and has been a real asset to us – even before we went on the road.  I’ll be very sad to see it go.  ☹

We love this adjustable table David gave us for Christmas!

Football didn’t go so well either.  I’m very sorry to report that THE Ohio State University was even more soundly defeated by Alabama than the Pittsburgh Steelers were by the Cleveland Browns – 52-24.  But I very much enjoyed my chic flick time again!

Alabama rolls over OSU to win program's 18th national title

I’m not sure Blaine has anything to say about the game, other than “There’s always next year!”

As I said above, tomorrow we move on down the Florida Panhandle – – – to an island.
