Into The Wind 04/21/21

Tallulah Gorge State Park, Tallulah Falls, Georgia

On the third day, Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.  He said to his servants, “Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there.  We will worship and then we will come back to you.”  Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. ~ Genesis 22:4-6        Now it’s just the two of them.  A son full of promise for all generations, and the father who has to make the toughest decision of his life, and sacrifice his one and only son of promise.  And Isaac must carry the burden for the sacrifice himself.  His is the “cross” to bear (the wood providing the means of sacrifice).  This and the rest of the story, is filled with beautiful allegory about the coming Christ.

Sweet Older Sister: Genesis Chapter 22

A front came through and it’s cooler and very blustery today!  A high of just 58⁰ and wind steady at 18-19mph, with gusts of 25 or so.  But it’s sunny.

We waited until this afternoon for it to warm up a bit, and then ventured out to some of the areas we’ve already visited, so you’ll be spared from so many pictures, but you’ll still get some – most of which you’ve probably already seen a time or two.

Climbing these hills around here, we warmed up quickly and ditched our extra layer, but we relished in the gusty wind and sunshine, and the dazzling blooming plants!

This bush/tree was fascinating! The abundant white blossoms lay along the center of the branches on top of the leaves, giving it an unusual appearance that you can’t really make out in the picture. : (
View from Inspiration Point today.
Now we’re across the river on the South Rim trail (no, we didn’t take the steps this time )
and the lighting this afternoon allowed us to see the Cascades much better!
The view from the rocks we sat on the other day – when we ate our cookies.
No cookies today though. : (

All in all, it was a spectacular day, for which we are very grateful!
