Dull Copy     03/23-24/22

Highview Campground COE, Ennis, Texas

The seven years of abundance in Egypt came to an end, and the seven years of famine began, just as Joseph had said.  There was famine in all the other lands, but in the whole land of Egypt there was food.  When all Egypt began to feel the famine, the people cried to Pharaoh for food.  Then Pharaoh told all the Egyptians, “Go to Joseph and do what he tells you.” ~ Genesis 41:53-55     Did you realize that the famine was everywhere?  It had to cover a wide area in order to bring Joseph’s family to Egypt.  Because no one else knew a famine was coming, they didn’t prepare for it and so it affected other regions first.  And now Pharaoh has given Joseph control over all the “world”.  Whether others live or die, is in his hands.  In his hands is the power to save and that power is given to him by the supreme ruler.  But people must come to Joseph.  What a responsibility!  And what a foreshadowing of Jesus!  Jesus, too, has been given the power to save the world (“I am the Bread of Life” -John 6:35), but we must come to Him and ask.  Isn’t that awesome?!?

Reflection – Joseph Manages Egypt During the Famine

Isn’t that what newspaper reporters used to call their stories, “copy”? Or maybe they still do?  For two days we didn’t do much worth reporting.  We enjoyed our lake views and did paperwork, research, blogging and domestic things.  I did try a new recipe that was supposed to be easy and delicious.  It was neither.  It was okay, but the effort, time, surplus of dirty dishes, and taste didn’t entice me to ever make it again.  For that reason, I’m not even sharing the recipe.  I do however, have a picture.

Blaine went off on his own one day.
And he also took several pictures of our new home base.
Can you see my expression?
It seems to be asking, “Why???”
Which is exactly what I was thinking.
This is our French Onion Meatball Sub.
Looks good, doesn’t it? : )

Enjoy this short post.  Tomorrow we’re off to Dallas for a long day, and by now, you should know what that means . . . 😊
