The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to a man’s inmost parts. ~ Proverbs 26:22
Due to the heat, we made it a short day today. In the Park by 7:30am, and back home in time for lunch. And since I’m writing this six days after the fact, I have no idea how we spent the remainder of our day. I’ve often wondered how they possibly expect people in the witness box to remember events years ago, when I can’t even remember yesterday without pictures to help me.
We explored the “Windows” section of Arches National Park today, among other things, and by the time we were done, we’d covered this National Park, except for the Devil’s Garden Trail, which we’ll do one day next week when it’s supposed to be much cooler. By much, I mean 10-15⁰. Hey. Every little bit counts around here!
Today’s explorations, included only very short walks. Thank goodness!
Shall we begin?
Let’s play “Where’s Blaine”! Remember the “Where’s Waldo” books from the 80’s? There were tons of people at Double Arch, and while I sat and waited for Blaine to go explore and take pictures, I decided I needed a distraction. The following pictures may look identical, but Blaine is in a different spot in each one. Can you find him? Have fun! 😊
Our last hike was supposed to be a short, flat 2-miler round trip that would take us to see Park Avenue and back. We had good intentions, but the sun was relentless, and we wisely turned around before we got too far along. However, we didn’t miss out on anything except heat exhaustion, because there’s a pull off where you can see it just by taking a few dozen steps. 😊
