Next up on the preparations was to install the tow package on the coach and the Jeep. Blaine decided to go with a Blue Ox tow bar and an Air Force One brake package. It’s a fully automatic proportional braking system. What that means in English is – when you gently push the coach brakes, the Jeep brakes push gently, when you push harder on the coach brakes, the Jeep brakes respond proportional to the pressure on the coach brakes.
It took two days to install. Tests in the driveway proved to show a perfect installation the first time! We’ll know for sure when we do our first road test.
The front bumper was removed and a tow plate was bolted to the frame of the Jeep.
