The Hitchhiker 05/08/19

Little Beaver State Park, Beaver, West Virginia

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this; He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.  Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him. ~ Psalm 37:4-7a

Is it me, or are the newscasters getting younger?
When we first arrived and saw these two,
we thought maybe it was “take your child to work day”!

Silly me.  I forgot who we are.

I was under the impression that today would be a 292-mile, 5 ½ hour, fairly boring drive up through West Virginia and Ohio . . . .

We had to brave the narrow back roads in order to get the expressway!
The church parking lot that saved us the other day!
Thank You, Father!
Signs if impending civilization!
Whew! We made it!
Well, maybe not! Look how narrow!

. . . But somehow, someway, we picked up a very unusual hitchhiker!  Or at least, he made himself known to us today.  Who knows.  He could’ve been tagging along for months!

Unfortunately for him, he chose today, in the middle of I-77, to crawl up onto the middle of our windshield right after a toll booth stop.  He made it for a mile or two before his poor little sticky feet couldn’t hold on any longer, and when he tried to crawl to safety . . . he was gone in a heartbeat.  Poor thing!

The little hitchhiker!

Proof that we were moving. : )

I took this just before he flew the coop.
That bottom leg on the left?
It was the last to go.
We had no idea a frog’s leg could stretch so long! Grimace . . .
They seem to be doing a good job restoring Charleston, WVA’s capital building!
If you look really, really close, you can see guys up there on the top of the dome part.
It’s bigger than it looks!
We’re in the right State!
More construction! That was the name of the game today.
Tis the season!
That’s our exit!
Almost there!

Countryside Campground, Mogadore, Ohio

It’s time for our semi-annual break.  We’re back home in Ohio where we’ll spend about six weeks or so visiting family and friends.

This year, we’re also taking our three oldest grandsons camping for a week in June.  Should be a hoot!

Check back after Father’s Day (June 16th) when the B&T saga will continue with a condensed version of the time we were home, and we’ll pick up our regular programming with a journey into New York State and Quebec.

On second thought, you better give me a few days to get my act together.  I’ll plan my first posting for June 18th or 19th.  See you then!

UPDATE:  Well, I thought I was done . . .

Late into the evening, a new neighbor showed up in a huge customized bus and towing a car.

Our morning view, which normally wouldn’t have made it into the blog
because it’s the day after I’m supposed to be done,
but since I’m behind, I thought I’d take it anyway.
Little did I know . . . . .

Thursday morning, Blaine went to get on the internet and when the list of options to connect came up, look what some of his choices were . . .

Did you look close?  Read them again if you didn’t.

Can you believe that??

Blaine decided to stay inside until they left. Not really, but it adds to the drama, ya know? 😊 I was gone by 7:30am, and by the time I returned, they were gone.

Do they look like FBI to you?
I thought they always wore black suits, white shirts and ties . . .
Even FBI guys have to do laundry once in a while. : )

Wonder what they’re surveilling??  Maybe they heard we picked up a hitchhiker!  Wonder if the campground owners know?  You can bet we’ll be asking them!

And it’s entirely possible that they’re not really FBI. After all, you can choose any name you want for your wifi identity. But then there’s the fact that they’re dressed identically and the Twinsburg, Ohio twins festival isn’t until August . . . .

We don’t have very many dull days.  For some reason God enjoys surprising us!  😊
