The Last Day     11/16/22

Twin Creek RV Resort, Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Then the king of the North (Seleucus II Callinicus) will invade the realm of the king of the South (Ptolemy III Euergetes) but will retreat to his own country. ~ Daniel 11:9

The wars between the North (Seleucids) and South (Ptolemies) continue.

On our last day, we weren’t meeting up with Brad and Jeannine until after lunch, so Blaine woke this morning with a burning desire to take on a strenuous hike – by himself.  Rainbow Falls is a wonderful hike (we’ve done it in the past with other friends), but it’s about 6 miles round-trip and uphill 1600 ft. Since we were kinda pressed for time, I let him go on his own.  He probably managed it in half the time had he been with me.  😊

He brought back some gorgeous pictures though!

He said the deer didn’t even care that he was standing right beside them. : )
Once he reached his destination, he was able to watch the clouds move in and out around the falls.
Heading back.

When we got together with Brad and Jeannine, we took on the hike Blaine and I did the other morning, only today we went a bit further.  It’s a nice, easy, broad-trail walk with lots to see since the Little Pigeon River runs alongside most of it, and since it rained all day yesterday, the water was really flowing today!

Turkeys!!
Doesn’t Jeannine look like a model???
Blaine noticed this tree with an unusual trunk.
There’s bark on the inside!
That’s it dear. Just step back a little further…… lol

Great way to end our time together!  We’ll miss them when they go home, but we’re headed to my brother’s in a few days.
